Jaiswal confident India can spoil the submission of England for a winning prosecution in series

Yashasvi Jaiswal supported India to ruin the quest for England for a record race for the oval while tourists occupy the victory that would save them a serial defeat.

The Jaiswal opener struck a superb 118 Saturday to leave England needed 374 to prevent India from saving a 2-2 draw in a five-game campaign.

India was dismissed for 396 during its second rounds on the third day of the decision test.

No team has done more to win in the fourth round of an oval test than England 263 against Australia in 1902.

England was 50-1 at Stumps, still requiring 324 points to win, with Ben Duckett 34 not released after Mohammed Siraj played Zak Crawley with the last ball of the day.

Jaiswal is convinced that India can finish work.

“Of course, we are quite confident,” he said. “We just have to focus on our process and continue bowling in the right areas.”

Jaiswal added: “We want fun and battles in the middle. That’s why we like the test cricket.

“If we bowl on the line, it will be incredible. There is always movement in the counter and it is not easy to beat.”

India is in the running for a largely memorable victory thanks to the second one in the Jaiswal series after the Gaucher century during the first test in Headingley.

On Green terrain which turned out to be difficult for the two teams in the first rounds, the 23 -year -old took the attack in England with 14 four and two.

– “This is the way I fight” –

“I expect what you play on a counter like this one,” said Jaiswal. “Mentally, I was ready and I knew what plans I would play. I really enjoyed it.

“It is very important. We must continue to push ourselves. It was our last rounds here. I was trying to put pressure on the quieurs, to think positive and to go for my photos.

“I wanted to do more. I wanted to enlarge my sleeves than that, so I could have achieved something else. But it’s ok. I enjoyed it.

“This is the way I fight. The mentality is to go there to fight it.”

However, England can take the heart of recent history, with a pair of remarkable racing prosecution to beat India over the past three years.

The most of England did to win a fourth round test was their 378 against India in Edgbaston in 2022, while they also hunted 371 in Headingley in the opening match of this series.

England Pace Bowler Josh Tongue, which has taken five locks in the second round of India, believes that its team is more than capable of another epic triumph of the fourth round.

“I don’t see why we cannot continue these races,” said Tongue. “The way we play as a hitter is very positive and very exciting. I don’t see why we can’t try.”
