A new golf disc opens the public in Swindon

A new disc course has opened its doors to Basset Down Complex in Swindon.

The Disc Golf Race is now open to the public and joins the other activities offered by the complex, including Footgolf, a toptracer the practice, palette courts and a restaurant and a bar.

The owner of the Down Basset Complex Juliet Nutland said: “Disc Golf is a fantastic addition to what we offer here.

“It is active, inclusive, easy to learn and perfect to make the most of the outdoor – whether you are with young children, adolescents or adults.

“And be able to follow your game with an excellent meal or a drink on the terrace makes it a brilliant full day.”

Like traditional golf course or footgol, the goal of disc is to finish each hole as little as possible.

However, instead of bullets and clubs, players launch discs to raised metal baskets.

The new Golf course at Discs du Complex offers two tailor -made courses built on the existing Footgolf arrangement so that the two sports can be played simultaneously.

The discs can be hired on site, and players will receive a dashboard or can use an application called UDISC for digital rating and cards.

After a lap, players can relax and fill up in the restaurant and the bar on site, which includes a balcony and an outdoor patio.

The restaurant serves a seasonal menu based on local ingredients, as well as a dedicated children’s menu, cakes, ice cream rays and snacks.

For those who seek to enjoy a multitude of activities, Basset Down also offers Footgolf, a Dravate Range and Padel.

To play at Disc Golf, players can either appear during the day or book an online or phone slot.
