Ilona Maher was selected from the United States team for the Women’s Rugby World Cup in England later this year.
Maher, a bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Rugby Sevens, went from the condensed format to the game of 15 to 15 years to put pressure for a place in the tournament.

A productive passage with Bristol Bears in the Première female rugby (PWR) last season saw the 28 -year functionality on the wing and in the centers, before appearing in the Pacific Four series earlier this summer.
She has now gained inclusion in a team of 32 players named by Sione Fukofuka which also includes many other familiar faces of PWR.
The team is led by the Kate Zackary rear row, which plays its rugby club for the Trailfinders women, while the Saracens Lotte Sharp co-captain offers a very experienced option on the wing.
Prop Hope Rogers, a star with Exeter for several seasons, makes a fourth World Cup becoming the most capped female international in his country.
