A 12 -year -old cricket player from West Berkshire was appointed the latest ambassador for a sportswear brand.
Mya Panchal, student at St Gabriel school in Newbury who plays for Falkland Cricket Club, joined Maiden Cricket as part of her ambassadors’ program promoting girls in sport.

Maiden Cricket was launched last year by teenagers Sisters Honor and Cat Black, who wanted to create comfortable, functional and elegant cricket clothes designed for girls.
Mya Panchal said: “One of the main reasons why I started playing a cricket was to help put girl cricket on the menu and encourage more girls to take hard shot.
“As an ambassador of a young girl, I want to increase the visibility and the impact of sport, inspires young girls to believe that they belong to the height and help to create a favorable and inclusive environment where they feel confident, authorized and excited to play.
“Thanks to this role, I hope to be a voice for a positive change and a model for the next generation of female cricket players.”

The Ambassador program is open to players aged eight and over who are passionate about promoting the inclusiveness and cricket of growing girls in schools, universities and clubs.
Hundreds of requests have been received from throughout in the United Kingdom.
Cat Black, co-founder of Maiden Cricket, said: “At Maiden, we are all about the defense of crickets for girls by stressing what fantastic sport to strengthen confidence and team spirit.
“We have already built a large community to help share our mission and it’s great to make the crew join Mya.”
